Ladakh Marathon 2020 – 9th Edition

AGE ELIGIBILITY as on 13th September 2020 for various races is:

Race Category Age Criteria( more than )
Run Ladakh for Fun (05 KM)  12 years
10.5 KM Run  14 years
Half Marathon (21.1 KM)  16 years
Marathon (42.1 KM)  18 years
Khardung La Challenge (72 KM)  20 years
 Silk Route Ultra (122 KM)  24 years
 Veterans (all races)  50 years

Besides the age limit runners should be in good physical condition to adapt and be able to run at high altitude.

The following criteria are mandatory for all runners for all races, except the 05km Run Ladakh for Fun. Entries for these categories will be screened and if you do not fulfill the requirement the organiser has the right to reject your application. It is imperative to arrive in Leh well in time and as recommended.

10.5 Km Run

Runner must have run one 10 km run under 1 hour 30 minutes in past one year prior to the race day

HALF MARATHON

Runner must have run EITHER one half marathon under 3 hrs OR two 10 km run under 1 hr 25 mins in the past 20 months.

MARATHON

Runner must have run EITHER one full marathon OR two half marathons in the past 20 months.

KHARDUNG LA CHALLENGE

Runner who fulfills any one option listed below is eligible to APPLY for this race.

Stadium runs will not be considered as a qualifying race.

  • Two full marathon under 5 hrs in the past two years
  • Two ultra marathon over 70 km in the past two years
  • A full marathon under 5 hrs and an ultra marathon over 70 km in the past two years

Application will be confirmed once documents submitted towards eligibility criteria have been verified within 5 to 7 working days, after which payment link will be shared. The organiser reserves the right to disallow / disqualify any participant who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in this race.

Besides the above, the following nationalities cannot participate in the Khardung La Challenge as they are excluded from the restricted area permit which is required for Khardung La pass

a) Citizens of Afghanistan, China, Pakistan and foreign nationals having their origin in these countries

b) Diplomatic passport holders

Please note that the number of participants to this race is restricted to a maximum of 150 runners.

SILK ROUTE ULTRA

Runner who fulfils any one option listed below is eligible to APPLY for this race.

Stadium runs will not be considered as a qualifying race.

  •  Finisher of Khardung La Challenge 2019
  • Finisher of Khardungla Challenge of previous years but having either an ultra marathon (over 70 km) certificate or marathon certificate (under 5 hrs) in past one year prior to race day
  • Finisher of two ultra marathons which are over 100 km in past two years prior to race day
  • Finisher of a WTC Ironman race in past two years prior to race day

Application will be confirmed once documents submitted towards eligibility criteria have been verified within 2 to 7 working days, after which payment link will be shared. The organiser reserves the right to disallow/disqualify any participant who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in this race.

Please note that the number of participants to this race is restricted to a maximum of 50 runners.
Besides the above, the following nationalities cannot participate in the Silk Route Ultra and the Khardung La Challenge as they are excluded from the restricted area permit which is required for the Khardung La pass
