Talwalkars Better Value Fitness Limited, commonly known as Talwalkars, is India’s largest chain of health centres. It has over 130 ultramodern branches across 70 cities in the country, with over 1,25,000 members. Talwalkars first gym was set up in Mumbai in 1932.

 

Talwalkars Fitness Academy offers a 3 month Certificate Course in Fitness at Mumbai. In addition, Talwalkars established a Residential Training Academy at Thane in 2007, in order to impart training to their fitness trainers both newly recruited as well as the existing staff. The academy spreads over 25,000 sq.ft. A typical training session lasts for 4-6 weeks at the Academy. The academy also supports research and education in exercise science and fitness.

 

Talwalkars also joined hands with Procam International, promoters of the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, to become the Official Training partner for the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, 2008. Talwalkars, with 100 of their own trainers and 60 external trainers, in association with Procam International, organized a three-day Training Workshop in Mumbai in October, 2007. Renowned distance running expert Ian Ladbrooke, along with Zak Kihara, an elite athlete from Kenya, conducted the workshop for the trainers nominated by Talwalkars.
