Milind Soman Transition to Barefoot Running

In the experiential part of the Summit, Milind Soman, who was planning to run his first full marathon barefoot at Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon the following day narrated his personal story of how he transitioned to barefoot runner. He started with how he ran with shoes, the philosophy that drove him to go minimals with Vibrams and ultimately ended up running barefoot.

His personal narrative was compelling and he differentiated between various aspects of running and foot strike that showed he was a very knowledgeable and intellectual intensive about his running. He of-course touched upon the aspect that barefoot running may not be for everyone and one should transition slowly and those who are used to running with particular shoes should continue since the body has adapted to that particular shoe.
